According to him, the rupee may breach 64.20/dollar levels and the spot USD-INR pair is likely to trade in the range of 64-64.40/dollar.

The dollar index is slightly lower against a basket of major currencies after US economic data came in shy of expectations and another missile test by North Korea over the weekend underpinned the perceived safe-haven yen.

Asian markets were mixed despite concerns over trade protectionism during the G7 meeting in Italy and North Korea's latest missile launch at the weekend.

CHART  INTERPRETATION

The Nifty took support near  the cluster of support placed around 9060-9070 region as it is the upper band of bullish gap area formed on March 14, 2017 post state election results (9060) and 80% retracement of the last rising segment placed around 9070. Going forward, we expect the index to trade with a positive bias and a decisive close above 9310 will add fuel to the ongoing momentum and open further upsides towards 9450 over the short term as it is the value of the trend line joining 2016 yearly high and March 2017 peak of 9218. Among oscillators, the 14 period RSI is exhibiting a negative divergence as it has formed lower high against higher high on price front. This may keep the index vulnerable to bouts of profit taking at higher levels

TOP 20 STOCKS WHICH FUND MANAGERS DUMPED IN MARCH QUARTERS | STOCK NEWS REPORT 22 APRIL 2017.

Mutual funds, which poured in over Rs 2,000 crore in Indian equity markets in March, pared their positions or made an exit in stocks such as Coal India, Divi’s Laboratories, Tech Mahindra, TCS and Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories which slipped up to 20 percent so far in the year.

After a lacklustre 2016, 2017 has been nothing short of a blockbuster year for investors with benchmark indices hitting fresh record highs in April. The S&P BSE Sensex and Nifty rose 11 percent and 12 percent respectively.

The large part of the rally was driven by abundance liquidity from both global as well as domestic investors who poured in close to Rs 30K crore in January-March period.

Stocks, which mutual funds dropped in March based on market value, include names like Axis Bank, Divi’s Laboratories, Tech Mahindra, Coal India, Bharti Airtel, TCS, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, JSW Steel, Ashok Leyland, BHEL, Orient Cement, Info Edge, Equitas Holdings, Sun Pharma etc. among others, said an IDBI Capital report.

This could be a sign of cautions for investors. Either mutual funds would have booked profits in these stocks or the fundamentals does not support the current valuation. In either case, it is a sign of caution for investors. Most of the stocks mentioned in the list have given negative return so far in the year.

SENSEX FALLS AFTER HITTING 30000 IN OPENING | TODAY SHARE MARKET NEWS REPORT 05 APRIL 2017.

After a holiday, equity benchmarks opened higher on Wednesday, with the Sensex crossing 30,000-mark but failed to sustain that level as investors turned cautious ahead of Monetary Policy Committee meet later today.

Majority of economists expect unchanged in rates from the Reserve Bank of India but the commentary will be closely watched, especially after the RBI, in last meet, changed its stance from accommodative to neutral.

The 30-share BSE Sensex was down 79.75 points at 29,830.47 and the 50-share NSE Nifty fell 15.15 points to 9,222.70, dragged by HDFC, ITC, Infosys and ICICI Bank.

However, Reliance Industries continued to support the market, up nearly 2 percent on value buying.

The Indian rupee opened marginally lower at 65.07 per dollar against Monday's closing value of 65.02.

Bhaskar Panda of HDFC Bank feels the rupee is likely to remain rangebound today and stay between 64.90-65.10/dollar.

The dollar was flat but traded lower against the yen which rose to a one-week high. Caution prevails ahead of the US china meeting. Investors will be watching for any discussion on trade or currency manipulation.

Asian shares were in positive territory, amid concerns over North Korea's latest ballistic missile test which landed in the Sea of Japan.

The Indian rupee was little changed against the dollar, as greenback purchases by state-run lenders likely on behalf of the central bank and importers offset gains arising from strong local shares. India is implementing the General Anti-Avoidance Rule, or GAAR, from the next financial year that starts Apr. 1. Investors have beenwary of the proposed legislation - first tabled in 2012-13 federal budget - that gives authorities the right to examine and tax transactions if they believe those deals were structured solely to evade tax payments. USDINR is expected to trade with negative bias in today’s session. Resistance is at 65.10 and support is at 64.80 mark.
