SENSEX, NIFTY OPEN AT FRESH RECORD HIGH | TODAY SHARE MARKET NEWS UPDATE 16 MAY 2017.

Equity benchmarks opened at fresh record high on Tuesday, continuing upside despite mixed Asian cues.

The 30-share BSE Sensex was up 63.33 points at 30,385.45 and the 50-share NSE Nifty rose 12.55 points to 9,457.95. About 643 shares advanced against 258 declining shares on the BSE.

Bharti Airtel was the biggest gainer among largecaps, up nearly 3 percent followed by Tata Steel, TCS, Dr Reddy's Labs, IOC, ACC and ICICI Bank.

Asian Paints, HDFC Bank, BHEL, HDFC, Adani Ports, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Cipla and Bank of Baroda were early losers.

The Indian rupee was flat at 64.06 per dollar in opening against previous day's close of 64.06.

Bhaskar Panda of HDFC Bank says the rupee has been supported by global cues as well as firm flows from FIIs and FDI. Today, he expects the USD-INR pair to trade in a range of 63.95-64.20/dollar range.

Dollar weakened against a major basket of currencies after a weaker than expected US economic data dampened the outlook for the pace of further tightening by the Federal Reserve this year.

Asian markets were mixed, following the bounce in oil prices after the energy ministers of Russia and Saudi Arabia announced output cuts should be extended till March 2018 and as investors largely shrugged off US political news on President Donald Trump.

SENSEX OPENS 100 PTS HIGHER , NIFTY ABOVE 9400 | TODAY STOCK MARKET TREND OUTLOOK 15 MAY 2017.

Equity benchmarks stated off the week on a positive note, with the Sensex rising over 100 pts despite mixed Asian cues.

The 30-share BSE Sensex was up 110.51 points at 30,298.66 and the 50-share NSE Nifty rose 28.70 points to 9,429.60. About 670 shares advanced against 222 declining shares on the BSE.

ICICI Bank, ONGC, Tata Steel, HDFC, Axis Bank, Hindalco and Dr Reddy's Labs were early gainers while Cipla, Infosys, Hero Motocorp, Wipro, Bharti Airtel, BPCL and Bharti Infratel were losers.

The Indian rupee has opened higher by 18 paise at 64.12 per dollar against Friday's closing of 64.30.

Pramit Brahmbhatt of Veracity feels weak economic data released on last Friday as well as positive cues from domestic equity market may trigger a fall in the dollar.

According to him, the rupee may breach 64.20/dollar levels and the spot USD-INR pair is likely to trade in the range of 64-64.40/dollar.

The dollar index is slightly lower against a basket of major currencies after US economic data came in shy of expectations and another missile test by North Korea over the weekend underpinned the perceived safe-haven yen.

Asian markets were mixed despite concerns over trade protectionism during the G7 meeting in Italy and North Korea's latest missile launch at the weekend.

Markets in Asia were mostly weaker, with the Japan's down 0.7 percent, following weak earnings from US retailer Macy's and ahead of the G7 finance meeting in Italy.

SENSEX OPENS FLAT,NIFTY ABOVE 9300 | TODAY STOCK MARKET TREND OUTLOOK 09 MAY 2017.

Benchmark indices opened in the green on Tuesday, with indices posting marginal gains and holding on to key milestones.

The 30-share Sensex was up 35.66 points at 29961.81, while the Nifty was up 11.50 points at 9325.55. The market breadth was healthy as 593 shares advanced against a decline of 179 shares, while 31 shares were unchanged.

Asian Paints, Hero MotoCorp, HDFC and Indian Oil were top gainers on both the indices, while Adani Ports, Bharti twins and Ambuja Cements lost the most.

On the global front, the S&P 500 ended flat on Monday after briefly touching a record high, while Wall Street's "fear gauge" dropped to its lowest in over two decades following centrist Emmanuel Macron's victory in the French presidential election.

The CBOE Volatility index dropped 7.6 percent to 9.77, its lowest since 1993 as investors took comfort from Macron's victory, as well as from strong quarterly reports in recent weeks.

A declining VIX typically indicates a bullish outlook for stocks, but the extreme lows the index has touched are sounding caution for some stock investors.

Asian equities were mostly muted after soaring in the previous trading session with investors focused on key regional events unfolding in the day, including a presidential election in South Korea and the release of the Australian federal budget.

Gold inched up early on Tuesday as Asian stocks eased, but was sitting near a seven-week low hit in the previous session as Emmanuel Macron's victory in French elections dampened the safe-haven appeal of the metal.

Meanwhile, following a successful IPO issue, S Chand and Company will be listing itself on the exchanges later in the day.

The IPO saw solid investor demand after it was oversubscribed 59.28 times at the close of its bidding hours.

The textbook publisher’s issue received bids for 45,56,00,794 shares against the total issue size of 76,85,284 shares, data available with the NSE showed.

The Indian rupee gained in the early trade on Monday. It has opened higher by 10 paise at 64.27 per dollar versus Friday's close 64.37.

Pramit Brahmbhatt of Veracity said, "Consolidation near 64.20/USD, resulted into positive divergence on daily chart for USD. A technical pull-back may get extended till 64.50."

"Bias would remain positive for USD and USD-INR pair will trade in a range of 64.20 to 64.50," he added.

Meanwhile, Asian shares traded mostly higher on Monday following the landslide victory of Emmanuel Macron in the French polls on Sunday, with the Nikkei share average hitting its highest level since December 2015.

Macron defeated far-right candidate Marine Le Pen in the French presidential election, with the French interior ministry stating that the former had secured 65.1 percent of the vote. Macron, who is 39 years old, will become France's youngest president.

Market reaction was muted following the results of the French presidential vote, said National Australia Bank Head of FX Strategy Ray Attrill in a Monday morning note, although the euro/dollar bounced significantly.

Reliance Industries, Asian Paints, Lupin, Coal India and Dr Reddy's Labs were early gainers.

The rupee opened 6 paise weaker against the dollar at 64.22 as nationalised banks bought the greenback heavily in early trade.

The USD-INR pair continues to consolidate around the current levels. He expects the rupee to trade in the 64.10-64.40 range ahead of the crucial data today.

SENSEX OPENS UP 150 PTS,NIFTY ABOVE 9350 | TODAY STOCK MARKET TRENDS UPDATE 04 MAY 2017.

The 30-share BSE Sensex was up 148.38 points at 30,043.18 and the 50-share NSE Nifty gained 35.75 points at 9,347.70. About 738 shares advanced against 247 declining shares on the BSE.

The rupee opened 5 paise lower against the dollar at 64.20, primarily due to some strength in the greenback after the onclusion of the 2-day meet of the US Federal Reserve.

Mohan Shenoi of Kotak Mahindra Bank says US FoMC considered weak Q1 data as transitory, indicating a June hike in Fed rates is on track. As a result, the dollar has posted marginal gains against the yen in particular.

The rupee opened 9 paise higher against the dollar at 64.12, as exporters and custodian banks sold the greenback in early trade.

Analysts attributed this intraday correction to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) intervening to stem the rise of the rupee.

“The bias on the rupee is still positive,” said a dealer with a foreign bank.

“It is quite likely that we could see another sustained rally from here on.”

Asian markets were mixed, as gains on Wall Street overnight were offset by disappointment with Apple earnings, with traders looking ahead to the US Federal Reserve meeting results.

In Australia, the ASX 200 was down 0.95 percent amid declines in banking and some resources shares. The Shanghai Composite shed 0.33 percent while South Korea's Kospi was up 0.65 percent.

Asian markets traded mostly weaker as comments from President Donald Trump on an existing free trade pact with Seoul to payment for a sophisticated anti-missile system caught investors by surprise.

TOP 20 STOCKS WHICH FUND MANAGERS DUMPED IN MARCH QUARTERS | STOCK NEWS REPORT 22 APRIL 2017.

Mutual funds, which poured in over Rs 2,000 crore in Indian equity markets in March, pared their positions or made an exit in stocks such as Coal India, Divi’s Laboratories, Tech Mahindra, TCS and Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories which slipped up to 20 percent so far in the year.

After a lacklustre 2016, 2017 has been nothing short of a blockbuster year for investors with benchmark indices hitting fresh record highs in April. The S&P BSE Sensex and Nifty rose 11 percent and 12 percent respectively.

The large part of the rally was driven by abundance liquidity from both global as well as domestic investors who poured in close to Rs 30K crore in January-March period.

Stocks, which mutual funds dropped in March based on market value, include names like Axis Bank, Divi’s Laboratories, Tech Mahindra, Coal India, Bharti Airtel, TCS, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, JSW Steel, Ashok Leyland, BHEL, Orient Cement, Info Edge, Equitas Holdings, Sun Pharma etc. among others, said an IDBI Capital report.

This could be a sign of cautions for investors. Either mutual funds would have booked profits in these stocks or the fundamentals does not support the current valuation. In either case, it is a sign of caution for investors. Most of the stocks mentioned in the list have given negative return so far in the year.
