The Nifty started the
expiry week on a dismal note with selling clearly visiblein heavyweights.
However, writing activity in 9000 strike Put continued indicating major
support. Nifty futures settled at a premium of 23 points. India VIX rose 3.8%
and ended at 12.4.The highest Put base is at the 8800 strike with 53 lakh
shares while the highest Call base is at the 9200 strike with 70 lakh shares.
The 9000 and 9100 Call strikes saw additions of 4.1 and 15.0 lakh shares
respectively, while 9000 and 8900 Put strikes saw additions of 3.6 and 2.1 lakh
shares, respectively.
The Nifty has given
proper follow up after respected the trendline last week which was placed at
9020 and witnessed a rebound from there. We believe 9200-9220 will remain a
crucial overhead hurdle for the index .If Nifty is unable to sustain above 9220
then level on upside is between the 9270-9300. 9200 is the next resistance for
Nifty future.

The Indian rupee was little changed against the dollar, as
greenback purchases by state-run lenders likely on behalf of the central bank
and importers offset gains arising from strong local shares. India is
implementing the General Anti-Avoidance Rule, or GAAR, from the next financial
year that starts Apr. 1. Investors have beenwary of the proposed legislation -
first tabled in 2012-13 federal budget - that gives authorities the right to
examine and tax transactions if they believe those deals were structured solely
to evade tax payments. USDINR is expected to trade with negative bias in
today’s session. Resistance is at 65.10 and support is at 64.80 mark.
